The Obersee Practice
Location: We are easy to find. The practice is located on the main street in the center of Altendorf on Lake Zurich with its own parking spaces directly in front of the entrance. The Stoglen bus stop and the Altendorf S-Bahn station are also just a few steps away.
Waiting room
We are happy to welcome you to the entertainingly furnished waiting room. There is a small pet store so that patients and their companions can be somewhat distracted and take home a reward in the form of a toy or a 'nibble fun' now and then. We also carry an assortment of selected items for feeding, caring for and keeping pets. Consultation hours are by appointment arranged by telephone, so long waiting times are the exception.
Consulting room
In our friendly, bright consultation rooms, we do our best to make your beloved pets and their owners feel at home. Personal care is important to us. We take time for every patient and prefer quality over quantity, because every animal deserves to have its health as our top priority. We only see 'private patients'!
Treatment and operation rooms
Our treatment and operating rooms have just been expanded and will be put into operation in November 2023. There is a preparation and operating room for dentistry and a sterile operating room. They have modern equipment with inhalation anesthesia systems. The anaesthesia is monitored using modern equipment to monitor the patient's condition so that older patients or animals with pre-existing conditions can also be operated on. Special warming systems ensure an optimally regulated body temperature. Mobile monitoring devices accompany the patients to the recovery boxes in order to guarantee seamless monitoring.
Modern medical technology
In order to be able to offer modern veterinary services, we have extensive and modern medical technology at our disposal every day. To assess eye diseases, for example, optical systems are needed to gain insights into the eye right up to the retina. Eye pressure and blood pressure measurements are also carried out.
Imaging examination methods
Imaging examination methods such as digital x-rays or ultrasound can be used for medical or orthopaedic examinations. We have a new dental X-ray system for the special requirements of dentistry and for imaging particularly fine structures. We also work with endoscopy.
In-House Laboratory
In our own modern laboratory, most common examinations of sample material such as blood, urine or feces are immediately examined directly on site. We also rely on a high-tech scanner system for cell assessment, which uses artificial intelligence to evaluate the images obtained. If necessary, the images can be forwarded directly to specialists, who provide an expert opinion within a maximum of 2 hours.
Pharmacy and diet feed
Once the diagnosis has been made, we offer various treatment options. In our veterinary pharmacy all necessary medicines are available at any time. Often a special diet is also necessary, for this we have a wide range of feed, so that a special diet can be composed without problems or can be achieved with feed supplements
Physical therapy
Less antibiotics more physics: We are leaders in cold plasma therapy and are in exchange with international specialists. Cold plasma is used in wound healing and skin diseases, but can also be applied in orthopedics and pain therapy. We also have shock wave or ZRT extracellular matrix therapy available for this purpose.
Nursing station
If an animal has to stay with us, we try to treat it as if it were our own! However, the stay in our foster home should be as short as reasonable, because nothing beats your own home! Cats and dogs are housed in separate rooms. All rooms are air-conditioned and ventilated and equipped with UV germ filters so that diseases are not spread!
